BEIJING, Sept. 4 -- Chinese police will increase patrols and inspections to ensure road safety during the upcoming Mid-autumn Festival travel rush, said the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Thursday.
Authorities will focus on overloading, speeding, fatigue and drunk driving during the rush, said the MPS in a statement.
Inspections will be enhanced on school buses and minibuses in rural areas.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on Monday this year, is a traditional Chinese holiday during which families reunite under the full moon.
