BEIJING, August 11 (People’s Daily Online)--The official launch of NESTA/UNDP Chinese-language Innovation Toolkit was held in Beijing on August 8, 2014.
"Nesta/UNDP Toolkit was an easy-to-use template for creating innovative new ideas and solving complex social problems,"said Christophe Bahuet, UNDP China Country Director.
"The tool design is making innovation easier and normal. Anyone can be an innovator. It is not too complicated and without confusing words. We offer the best ideas, helping people turn insights into good ideas,"said Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive of Nesta (National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts).
He especially stressed the significance of Toolkit for NGOs. "It is a practical model, aiding individuals, official think-tanks and innovation teams at all levels in clarifying and streamlining their thinking and promoting the burgeoning innovation."
"We adhere to the‘people-oriented’ philosophy as we believe it is the most important thing in social innovation. To serve the people, innovation process should meet the demand of users and society. The toolkit by Nesta has already played a positive role in UK and European, where you can find a lot of application of it," said Yang Zhongren, a representative from Intel.
This Nesta/UNDP Chinese-Language Innovation Toolkit with simple design is easy to operate. The government, non-government organizations and individuals can benefit from it. It remains to be seen what changes it will bring to Chinese users during the practice and application.
