Situated in Shangnan County, Shaanxi Province, the Jinsi Canyon Scenic Spot is a National 4A Level Scenic Spot, one of China's ten most beautiful canyons, and a National Forest Park. In the scenic spot there are over 100 attractions distributed in four scenic areas, namely White Dragon Valley, Black Dragon Gorge, Qinglong Gorge, and Shiyanzhai; the gorges are 20.5 kilometers in total length and extend over 10 kilometers into the wilderness; some parts are still unreachable even to date.
It is home to typical plants of southern regions and those normally seen in northern regions. In fact, inside the scenic spot there are deciduous and broad-leaved tree species that normally grow in the temperate zone or the warm temperate zone, as well as evergreen, deciduous, and broad-leaved species that are normally seen in the subtropics. The scenic spot features the complete set of landforms typically associated with limestone narrow gorges, a thirteen-cascade waterfall, and geological phenomena like thin limestone layers and typical continuous folds; it blends the mountains and waters inside the canyon perfectly, thus presenting a geological landscape of high aesthetic value.
