Japan's ANA Remarkably Cuts US-Bound Flights in November
Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) on Tuesday announced to cut its U.S.-bound flights for November by about 20 percent amid shrinking number of passengers following the terrorist attacks on September 11 in New York and Washington.
ANA originally planned seven weekly flights between Tokyo and Chicago and between Tokyo and Washington for the month, but will integrate them into seven flights weekly from Tokyo to Washington via Chicago.
The airline will also slash the originally planned nine flights from Osaka to Guam weekly to seven, ANA said.
At the same time, ANA said that it will increase one weekly flight between Tokyo and Seoul to seven weekly.
It will also increase one weekly flight between Tokyo and Dalian, China, to twice a week, as Asia-bound flights continue to show strong demand despite the terrorist attacks, the company said.
