Fourth Int'l Tourism Culture Festival Ends

The Fourth Beijing International Tourism Cultural Festival ended in Beijing on Thursday, with a gala art performance.

Over 1,200 artists from a number of countries and regions, including China, the United States, France and Britain performed a variety of domestic and overseas songs and dances at Thursday's closing ceremony.

During the five-day event, which was jointly sponsored by the municipal government of Beijing and the China National Tourism Administration, nearly 5,000 Chinese and foreign artists performed many times at factories, the countryside, apartment complexes and universities in the Chinese capital.

The art festival played an important role in cultural exchange and promoting friendship between Chinese people and the world.

As a world famous tourism destination, Beijing received more than 100 million tourists from home and abroad last year.
