The customs and the Municipal Committee of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Beijing will cooperate in safeguarding the export and import trade order and improve trade environment for domestic and overseas-funded enterprises in the city.
They will join hands to combat illegal practices, such as smuggling, tax fraud, obtaining foreign currency under false pretenses, and illegal arbitrage, according to a memorandum signed Thursday in Beijing.
The Customs and committee promised to try their best to create a sound environment and conditions for businesses in Beijing to expand exports.
Zhang Mao, vice-mayor of Beijing, said that it accords with the rules set by the World Trade Organization and China's reality to set up a coordination mechanism between the customs and the foreign economic relations and trade committee.
