2001 China Mobile Bonds to be Issued

Approved by the State Development Planning Commission, the wholly-funded subsidiary of China Mobile (Hong Kong ) Co., Ltd., Guangdong Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., has set to issue the 2001 China Mobile Communication Enterprise Bonds.

Reportedly the bonds will be issued nationwide.Total issuance amount of the bonds amounts to 5 billion yuan, with a 10-year maturity term. The issuance is expected to finish in July this year and will be applied for listing in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

China Mobile (Hong Kong) promised to offer irrevocable joint liabilities guarantee for the bonds issued, to which China Mobile Communication Group will offer re-guarantee.

Lead underwriter of the bonds will be China international Finance Co., Ltd., Sources said the bonds will be placed to investors through the outlets of underwriters.

Price will be set according to par value of the bonds with floating interest rate, which will be paid annually.
