Two Ships Christened at Dalian Shipyard

Two 110,000-dwt oil tankers were named Maersk Pointer and Maersk Prosper, respectively, Wednesday at the Dalian New Ship Company in north China.

The two tankers were built for the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group of Denmark.

The tankers were designed and developed by the company itself, which has reached modern international advanced standards in ship-building technologies, sources said.

Up to now, ship companies from Greece, Norway and Denmark have ordered 12 such tankers, and Moller-Maersk alone has ordered 7, company sources said.
