CPPCC Member Calls for Economic Integration of East, Central, West China
A member of China's top advisory body suggested more efforts be made to promote economic integration of eastern, central and western China, saying that it is an important way to develop the resource-rich western China.
CPPCC member Ai Feng, who is vice-president of the China Enterprises Federation, said at Thursday's CPPCC third plenary meeting that promoting east-central-west economic integration can help improve nationwide allocation of resources, make better use of achievements of the eastern region to develop the western region, and increase the competitiveness of the Chinese economy.
"It is one stone that kills three birds," he said.
Such integration, by nature, aims to promote the opening up to one another of different parts of the country, while continuing to open to the rest of the world, he said.
