Provincial Delegates Satisfied with Resolution Settlement

Delegates attending people's political consultative conferences in several provinces said they were satisfied to find that most resolutions they submitted last year have been handled in a timely manner.

A total of 805 resolutions among the total 870 submitted during the conference last year in coastal Fujian province were settled or given replies, including 48 key resolutions on environmental protection, reforms of State-owned enterprises, and so on.

In Shandong Province, about 97 percent of the delegates are satisfied with the efficiency in handling the resolutions. The local government, for instance, has immediately closed several electronic game rooms to save indulged teenagers.

According to the current political system running in China, it is a basic function with the people's political consultative conference to supervise and participate in political decisions, in which submitting resolutions is a major means.

In Jiangsu Province, resolutions submitted by groups last year hit a record-breaking 110 in number, reflecting more confidence on the part of delegates in local government.
