Financial Risk Surges Year by Year: SSB

According to research data from State Statistics Bureau (SSB), Chinese economic and financial risk was basically within the security range, but the composite index of financial risk tends to increase year by year. The financial risk index in 1999 was 47.6, 11.8 higher than that of 1991, almost approaching the ceiling of the security rang (50). Thus the high alertness is called for, reported Guo Ji Jin Rong Bao.

The said research report designed a set of index system reflecting the financial risk status in China. The system involves five aspects including macro-economic environment, bank internal stability, bubble economy risk, T-bond risk and foreign capital impact risk, totaling 17 supervisory indices. And each kind of index formed a supervisory sub-system.

In respect of the hazard of five sub-systems, they ranked from high to low in order: bank internal stability sub-system, T-bond risk sub-system, macro-environment steadiness sub-system, bubble hazard sub-system and foreign capital impact risk sub-system.
