Chinese Sturgeon Returned Back to River
Changshu in east China's Jiangsu province returned 100 Chinese sturgeon back to the Yangtze river Tuesday.
Chinese sturgeon has been listed among the most endangered species protected by the Chinese government. The species can be dated back some 140 million years.
Changshu, located at the Yangtze river, is a breeding place for Chinese sturgeon. Fishermen catch as many as 3,000 young Chinese sturgeon by mistake every year. The fish are then release back to the river.
