HK Trade Department Renamed to Expand Service

The Trade Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has expanded its services and has been renamed Trade and Industry Department (TID) with effect from July 1.

It has taken over from the former Industry Department general support services for the industrial sector and small and medium- sized enterprises.

"After the reorganization, the TID will become the single front- line department serving our clients in both trade and industry," said Director-General of Trade and Industry Joshua Law.

"Consolidating support services under one department would create synergy, improve efficiency and provide more convenient one- stop services to traders and industrialists," he added.

TID's new website is at http://www.info.gov.hk/tid and the Department's new E-mail address is: dcsm@tid.gcn.gov.hk .
