Two Arrested in Deaths of Illegal Immigrants in Britain

Dutch police have made a second arrest over the death of 58 Chinese illegal immigrants who were found suffocated in a truck at the British port of Dover, accroding to the reports of the China Radio International.

The Dutch Justice Ministry says the suspect was arrested Monday during a police sweep through three buildings in the Dutch port of Rotterdam.

The ministry has not revealed whether the suspect is Arie van der Spek, the owner of the company that leased the truck. Authorities said earlier that they were looking for him.

Meanwhile, British investigators are holding the truck driver on suspicion of manslaughter.

British police say the 58 victims are in their 20s and apparently died of respiratory failure. They hope that the two survivors will be fit enough for formal questioning soon.
