Internet Application Demanded for China's Information Industry

Lu Xinkui, vice minister of China's Information Industry said that to develop the information industry has become a global trend as it exerts unprecedented influence on people's daily life and working pattern and that China has been in a position to develop e-commerce with support given by the Chinese government.

Lu made the remarks when addressing a Hi-tech Week conference in Beijing, saying that great efforts will be exerted to further boost a booming information industry in China in line with strategic plans formulated by the government.

China will drum up infrastructure construction in connection with the Internet and make a drive to prioritize the use of the Internet and developing information enterprises, Lu said.

In addition, the government will fully support the application and development of e-commerce in fields like foreign trade, bank industry, telecom, post, aviation, medicine and manufactures, Lu concluded.
