Chinese President Leaves S.Africa for Home

Chinese President Jiang Zemin left S.Africa Thursday afternoon for Beijing after winding up his state visit to South Africa.

This also marked the conclusion of Jiang's five-nation tour, which was kicked off on April 12. The visit has brought him to Israel, Palestine, Turkey and Greece. Furthermore, Jiang also met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in the Alexandria city of Egypt.

During his stay in South Africa, Jiang exchanged views with top leaders of the country on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

The Chinese president was seen off at the airport by Frene Ginwala, speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa, and other senior officials of the country.

Jiang's entourage also left the country aboard the same special airplane.
