The five-day China Spring Commodity Fair opened on April 18 in north China's Tianjin. According to organizers, over 3,000 enterprises from 26 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions will display their products including garments, decorations and household electrical appliances.
Enterprises and delegations from five western provinces, including Guizhou, Yunnan, Gansu, Tibet and Shaanxi, are attending the Fair. Gansu also plans to hold a press conference and trade negotiations during the event to attract more investment. Lectures on China's entry into the World Trade Organization will be held and strategies for developing China's western regions will also be discussed at the Fair, said organizers.
The Fair is one of the two important domestic commodity fairs in the country. The trade value for the previous six Fairs totaled 45. 5 billion yuan (US$ 5.46 billion).
