Taiyuan, capital of the inland Shanxi Province, is rising to become one of the leading export ports to the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The city handled more than 782 flights of chartered cargo plane last year, involving more than 33,200 tons of cargo for export.
To facilitate the export business to the Commonwealth of Independent States, the city has built its own customs and border checkpoints, which are supplemented by similar facilities in other two cities of Datong and Houma in the province.
The city has now opened air courses for cargo or passenger transportation to Hong Kong, Moscow, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Japan and the United States. So far, Tianyuan has handled more than 1,340 international flights and more than 50,000 tons of cargo.
