Sci-Tech China's Information Industry to Intensify Structural Readjustment

China's information industry will further intensify its structural readjustment this year, with emphasis placed on readjustment of the network and business structures.

It is reported that in order to fully promote China's informationization, the Ministry of Information Industry will further construct and improve basic networks, intensify the construction of Internet Service Provider (ISP) and further expand the capacity of mobile communication network, improve frequency utilization rate and access rate to create conditions for developing digital business; enlarge international outlet and portal band width of the Internet, increase the interconnecting capacity between China's key websites while speeding up the construction of digital multi media network, solve the problem of online slow speed as quick as possible.

According to demands, the industry's development goal is: communication business income reaches 330 billion yuan, fixed asset investment of communication industry 200 billion yuan, telephone popularization rate will reach 16 percent, the electronic information product manufacturing industry will earn a sales income of US$490 billion yuan, and export volume US$45 billion.
