China Guangdong Continues to Invest Heavily in Traffic Construction

Following 24.3 billion yuan of investment made in traffic construction last year, Guangdong Province continues to put in an additional amount of 22.5 billion yuan to improve its traffic this year. By this is meant 1500 km of new highways including 420 km of expressways are to be built and all administrative villages in the province will be made accessible to traffic.

As is known to people by news reports, Guangdong will focus its traffic building on construction of expressways, mountainous roads and communications networks centering in the area of the Pearl River Delta. A planned amount of 20.2 billion yuan will be used to speed up construction of communication arteries, expressways and highways leading to 277 administrative villages still out of access by traffic in Guangdong. Another 1.8 billion will be employed for expansions on some construction projects as of ports and rebuilding of storage grounds and warehouses.
