China Beijing to Strengthen Cooperation with HK, Macao and Taiwan

Beijing will further strengthen its ties with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the new millennium.

Jia Qinglin, Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Beijing, made these comments when he met with participants from HK, Macao and Taiwan who will attend the Third Session of the Ninth Meeting of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Jia hoped the CPPCC members of Beijing Municipal Committee will work together with their counterparts in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

In the past year, committee members have greatly helped the Beijing municipal government in the decision making process.

Herberth.Y.Liang, the Chairman of the Wider Enterprises Ltd. (Group), said that Hong Kong is making a steady comeback after the Asian Financial Crisis. In the new millennium, Hong Kong and Beijing will further promote and develop high-technology.
