China Waterfall on Yellow River Freezes

The famous Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River has frozen due to cold weather this winter.

A large five meter "iceberg" on the waterfall and a forest of icicles created a spectacular panorama for tourists.

The Hukou Waterfall in northwestern Shanxi Province is located in a narrow, precipitous gorge and is a well known tourist spot. Tourists cannot only view the "frozen" waterfall, but can cross a frozen bridge in several minutes from Shanxi to neighboring Shaanxi at the other bank of the Yellow River.

The waterfall attracts millions of tourists every year as well as daredevils who attempt to motorcycle across the waterfall.
