China Senior PLA Official Back Home After US Visit

Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), returned from the United States on January 29 evening at the end of a working visit.

During his US trip, which began last Saturday, Xiong attended the third defensive consultations between defense departments of the two countries. The two sides exchanged views on relations between the two countries and the two armed forces as well as other issues of common interest.

Xiong also met with a number of high-ranking officials of the U.S. government and military, as well as some celebrities.
