China Senior PLA Officers Stationed in Macao Visits SAR Govt

Senior Officers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) garrison troops stationed in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) paid a visit to the office building of the Macao SAR government on January 24.

Liu Yuejun and He Xianshu, commander and political commissar respectively of the PLA troops in the Macao SAR, thanked the SAR government and local residents for their care and assistance since the PLA troops marched into Macao on December 20.

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao SAR, briefed the PLA officers about the operation of the SAR government over the past month. Ho expressed the wish that officials of the SAR government and officers of the PLA garrison have regular meetings to enhance contacts.

Liu Yuejun noted that the visit helps his understanding about the SAR and is instrumental in the troops' carrying our of their defense duties in Macao.

After the meeting which lasted about an hour, the chief executive showed the officers around the office building.

The chief executive had paid a visit to the garrison on December 15.
