China Macao Chief Executive Congratulates Establishment of Liaison Office

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), offered congratulations on the establishment of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR on January 18.

The Macao SAR government will keep unhindered contacts with the Liaison Office and will offer necessary convenience to the latter, said a press release issued on Tuesday by the office of the chief executive.

The chief executive said in the press release that the central government has faithfully carried out the principles of "one country, two systems", "Macao people governing Macao" and a high degree of autonomy in Macao since Macao's return to the motherland.

He expressed the belief that the Liaison Office will contribute more to the successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle.
