Culture Travel More Popular Among Chinese This Year

Now leading better lives, more Chinese are preparing to travel at home and abroad this year, according to a survey conducted at the end of last year by the Beijing-based China Mainland Marketing Research Company and 13 other information agencies among 6,400 residents in 14 cities across China.

Statistics show that 30.7 percent of those surveyed traveled in China last year, and another 3.4 percent went abroad on pleasure tips.

This year, 38.2 percent of the urban residents polled said they plan to travel, up 6.7 percent over last year. Among these, 25 percent will tour in China and 6.1 percent will visit other countries, either by themselves or as part of an organized group.
