China Major Oilfield Producing More Marine Crude

The Shengli Oilfield, the second largest oilfield in China, pumped two million tons of crude oil from offshore oilfields on the Bohai Sea last year.

According to recent statistics available, the oilfield increased its total offshore oil output to 2.005 million tons last year, 200,000 tons more than in 1998.

Shengli Oilfield was built in 1964 at the mouth of the Yellow River, the second longest river in the country.

Its shallow sea oilfield, whose crude production has started in1993, reported the seventh year for good crude yield last year.
