Pistons Hill Named NBA Player of the Week
Grant Hill of the Detroit Pistons, who topped the 40-point mark in three of his four games, was named NBA Player of the Week on January 10.
Hill averaged 38.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists in leading the Pistons to a 3-1 record for the week.
His 155 points is the highest four-game mark for a Piston since Kelly Tripucka scored 160 in 1982. He became the first Detroit player to score 30-plus points in four straight games since Joe Dumars in 1993.
The scoring spree has pulled Hill into a tie for the second in the NBA in scoring with Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Laker sat 27.8 points per game. Philadelphia's Allen Iverson is averaging30.7. (Xinhua)
