Culture '99 Kunming Horticulture Expo Sets 8 Guinness Records

The '99 Kunming World Horticulture Expo set eight world records confirmed recently by the Shanghai Office of the Guinness Book of World Records.

The exposition, held in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, from May 1 to October 31 last year, received over 9 million visitors.

The exposition, the largest of its kind ever held in China, attracted participants from 95 countries and international organizations.

Some 2,511 varieties of trees and plants from around the world were displayed at the expo gardens which covered an area of 218 hectares.
