Culture Ancient Biological Fossils Found in Guangxi

The discovery of a batch of ancient fossils is further evidence that Mao'er Mountain in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was once a vast sea.

Archeologists found fossilized tiger bones, insects, and snail sand fish recently on Mao'er Mountain which is covered by a primitive forest.

The fish and snail fossils are testimony that the mountain area once was a large stretch of sea, and the fossils of tiger bones and insects indicated that the mountain had an active biological life, archeologists noted.

Mao'er Mountain is the source of the Lijiang River in the city of Guilin, and is 2,142 meters above sea level.
