China Tung Hosts Lunch for Macao's Chief Executive

With the return of Macao to China, Hong Kong is looking forward to enhancing the cooperation and exchange between the two special administrative regions, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Tung Chee Hwa said in Hong Kong on December 29.

"I am very hopeful that we can jointly work towards greater prosperity in the new era," Tung said when hosting a lunch at the Government House in honor of the visiting Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Edmund Ho.

Tung also said that Hong Kong and Macao can complement one another in economic development, and congratulated Ho once again on the smooth establishment of the Macao SAR.

Other guests attending the luncheon included Francis Tam, secretary for economy and finance of the Macao SAR, Lee Peng-hong, president of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, and Louis Sou, special assistant to the Macao SAR Chief Executive.
