Business Qingdao Airport Handles Two Million Passengers for 1st Time

Airport of this coastal city in east China's Shandong Province has established a record of the smooth handling of over two million passengers and 40,000 tons of cargo by 14:20 this afternoon, 10 and 25 percent more than the same period last year.

All passengers services were delivered without any incident throughout the period, said an official with the airport, a series of additional services such as internet ticket reservation, special ticket on-door delivery and 24-hour consultation.

To provide passengers with a better boarding environment, the airport has invested nearly five million yuan on indoor remodeling the terminal building and the passengers' waiting room, the official said.

In addition, the airport has opened a number of new international air routes linking the city with Japan, Hong Kong, the United States and European countries for cargo transportation.
