Business Overseas Investors Keen on Forestry in Guangdong

Overseas investors have become increasingly attracted to the forestry industry in south China's Guangdong Province in recent years.

To date, the province has signed 113 foreign-funded forestry projects worth a total of nearly one billion US dollars.

Guangdong has a forest area of 9.5 million hectares and a timbe reserve of 291 million cubic meters. The province's forest coverage has now reached 56 percent.

These projects include a variety of fields such afforestation, paper production, orchards, timber processing, and related scientific research and technological development.

To attract more investors worldwide, the province has implemented a series of favorable policies for investment in forestry. (Xinhua)
