Business Shaanxi Determined to Invest In Basic Facilities

Northwest China's Shaanxi Province plans to invest 73 billion yuan in the construction of basic facilities next year.

The funds will be mainly used to improve agricultural production, build railways and highways, upgrade basic urban facilities, develop high-tech projects, and construct tourist facilities, according to local authorities.

The province plans 125 basic construction projects for next year, including a 3 billion yuan investment to build water supply projects in 13 cities, which will greatly spur increased domestic demand, they added. Investment in basic facilities in the province is expected to reach 63 billion yuan for 1999. (Xinhua)
