Sports Sydney Olympics Organizers Plan Budget Cut

Sydney Olympics organizers said on December 17 they planned to cut their budget by as much as 64 million US dollars.

"We're looking at cuts somewhere in the vicinity of 50 million to 100 million Australian dollars," Olympics Minister Michael Knight said at a news conference in Sydney.

The cuts will not be finalized until February, the organizers said.
