Sci-Tech Shanghai Industry Fair Gathers Hi-tech Firms

More than 450 high-tech businesses converged in Shanghai for the First Shanghai International Industry Fair on December 13.

Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Bangguo sent a congratulatory message to the opening of the five-day fair.

The fair displays the latest electronics products, electric equipment and new materials and is expected to attract over 5,000 overseas and local businesspeople.

Of Shanghai's exports of 15.9 billion US dollars last year, 16 percent were high-tech products.
