Culture Guilin City Attracts Macao Tourists

The picturesque city of Guilin in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has attracted more than 400,000 Macao tourists since 1978, when China launched its reform and opening-up policy.

More than 10,000 Macao people have visited Guilin annually in recent years, statistics show.

On the eve of Macao's return to the motherland, Guilin is holding a number of tourist activities to celebrate the event. In the past ten days alone, more than 3,000 Macao compatriots attended the 7th Guilin Mountain and River Tourism Festival.

As a matter of fact, Guilin and Macao, both in southern China, had links more than a century ago, and they now have flights between them every day.
