Sci-Tech China to Support Domestic Telecom Companies

China plans to provide more support to its telecommunications industry, especially companies whose products have a potentially huge market, but still lack adequate equipment.

An official with the Ministry of Information Industry said that although China has an extensive telecom network, computers, telephones and other such tools owned by individuals remains relatively low.

More money will be poured into telecommunications to promote domestic telecom companies and break the monopoly of foreign names in the market.
