Sci-Tech Website for Handicapped Launched in China Port City

A 29-year-old disabled man in Dalian City in northeast China's Liaoning Province has opened a website for the handicapped, the first in this port city.

Sun Shuming, who has suffered from polio since childhood, said he opened the website: www.aixin.com.cn, to facilitate home care for the handicapped.

More than 420 people have visited the site since it was launched on December 3, including prestigious personalities like an outstanding handicapped woman named Zhang Haidi, who said the website is "interesting and meaningful" and that she will visit it often.

Sun, a computer enthusiast, has also launched a computer firm with the aid of his friends and family. "I forget all worries, bitterness, and my handicap in the computer world," he said.

With assistance from the Dalian Municipal Association of the Handicapped and the city's Information Industry Bureau, Sun opened the website as a home for the handicapped. (Xinhua)
