Sci-Tech Website on fatal disease opens

A new website (http://www.ALS.com.cn) is offering information on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which is also known as motor neuron disease, China Daily reports on December 2.

It is a fatal neurode generative disease that attacks nerve cells called motor neurons that control the movement of muscles. Some 18 medical experts from Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou are providing consultation on the website. Rilutek, the first drug ever approved for ALS, is currently available in China.
