Sports Bulgarian Radanova Wins 500-meters

Bulgarian Evgenia Radanova stunned Chinese stars to win the women's 500-meter final on November 27 in the World Cup short track speed skating in Nobeyama, Japan.

The 22-year-old clocked 45.083 seconds to beat China's Yang Yang (S), from Changchun city differentiated to teammate and world champion Yang Yang (A), and Wang Chunlu.

Yang Yang (A), from Heilongjiang province, crashed out in the semi-finals when she was third to Radanova and Yang Yang (S).

Chinese world overall champion Li Jiajun lost a battle against local favorite Satoru Terao, who took the men's 1,500-meter Friday, in the final of the 500-meter.

The Japanese timed 42.937 against Li's 43.187 with World Cup points leader Kim Dong-Sung of South Korea trailing in 43.221 at third.
