Sci-Tech China to Install Electronic Information System in Rail Stations

China is to invest 520 million yuan for installation of electronic information boards at 500 train stations throughout the country by the end of 2001.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the system will provide information on train schedules and locations, and help improve management of rail transport.

The new system indicates that the automatization of the Chinese railway sector has reached a higher level.
