China Delegation of Local Officials for Macao Handover Ceremony Formed

The Chinese government approved the formation of a delegation of local officials on November 26 to watch the handover ceremony of Macao on December 20.

The delegation comprises of representatives from governments of various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, leading officials of government departments in charge of Macao affairs, and representatives of the Chinese armed forces and mass organizations.

Besides the handover ceremony, the delegation will also attend the founding ceremony of the Macao Special Administrative Region ( SAR) and the inauguration of the Macao SAR government as well as handover celebrations.

Chen Ziying has been appointed head of the delegation, with Ke Zhengping as advisor, Li Shuilin and Wang Guozhang as deputy heads, Ji Peiding as secretary general, and Ke Xiaogang and Liu Mingqi as deputy secretary generals. (Xinhua)
