Business China Produces More Building Materials

China's output of building materials has been on the rise in the first nine months of this year, according to latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics.

The output of cement in the January-September period amounted to 388.5 million tons, up a year-on-year 14.0 percent, and that of plate glass stood at 123.9 million weight cases, up 6.7 percent.

China has stepped up infrastructure construction in a bid to stimulate domestic demand. Total investment in the construction sector in the nine months hit 10.1 billion yuan (about 1.2 billion US dollars), surging 24.3 percent. (Xinhua)
