Business Citizens in Shenzhen Earning More Money

People in the south China city of Shenzhen, the first special economic zone, continued to enjoy the highest income among the 35 major Chinese cities, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Statistics released by the bureau show that the per-capita monthly income in this boom town hit 1,580 yuan in August, and the per-capita disposable income reached 1,558 yuan while the city's per-capita living expenditure stood high at 1,245 yuan.

The city was followed by Guangzhou and Shanghai in per-capita monthly income and disposable income. The per-capita monthly income in Guangzhou was 919 yuan and that of Shanghai was 850 yuan.

The average per-capita monthly income of 35 major Chinese cities stood at 596 yuan, with the per-capita monthly disposable income at 593 yuan and per-capita living expenditure at 535 yuan. (Xinhua)
