Business China Maintaining Good Ties with IMF: Spokeswoman

China has maintained a good relationship of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the past two decades, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing on November 11 afternoon.

She made the remarks when asked to comment on a report that Michel Camdessus, chairman of IMF, will resign next February.

"We have noticed the report that IMF Chairman Camdessus will resign in February next year", Zhang said.

She said that Camdessus has made contributions to the development of IMF and to the role IMF has played in stabilizing the world economy. (Xinhua)
