World Brazilian President to Attend Ibero-American Summit in Cuba

Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso will leave for Havana on November 13 to attend the 9th Ibero-American Summit, the Foreign Ministry announced on November 9.

At the summit, President Cardoso will make a speech concerning the impact of world financial crisis on the Brazilian economy and discuss the economic difficulties in the developing countries with other leaders at the meeting, the ministry said.

During his stay in Cuba, Cardoso will meet his Cuban and Mexican counterparts Fidel Castro and Ernesto Zedillo, and Spanish King Juan Carlos respectively to tackle common economic issues, the ministry said.
