World India Claims to Kill Pakistani Soldiers in Kashmir

At least 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed on the night of November 9 when Indian troops repulsed an attack by the Pakistani Army in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian papers reported Wednesday.

The bodies of the soldiers were recovered along with their weapons, The Indian Express said, quoting an Indian Army spokesman.

Pakistani troops reportedly attacked Faulad, an Indian post in the Uri sector of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir, Tuesday afternoon.

Indian troops struck back and killed 10 Pakistani soldiers and injured five others in the retaliatory fire, the army spokesman said.

This is the first reported fire exchange of this magnitude from across the border between India and Pakistan since the end of the Kargil conflict between the two neighbors in July.
