World Cyprus, El Salvador Set up Diplomatic Relations

Cyprus and El Salvador signed a joint declaration in New York last week to establish diplomatic relations, an official announcement said on November 8.

According to the announcement, the declaration was signed by Cyprus's Permanent Representative to the UN Sotirios Zakheos and his El Salvadoran counterpart Ricardo G. Castaneda-Cornejo.

Zakheos said the signing of the declaration has confirmed the excellent friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

Castaneda-Cornejo described the signing of the declaration as an important stage in the relations between the two countries.
