World Cyprus, Russia Sign Cement Information Cooperation

Cyprus and Russia signed a memorandum on information cooperation to further enhance bilateral ties on November 8 in Nicosia.

The memorandum was inked by Director of the Cyprus Press and Information Office George Hadjisavvas and visiting First Deputy Director General of the Russian ITAR-TASS news agency Mikhail Gousman.

The memorandum includes articles facilitating information exchange, the exchange of visits by journalists, staff training, the coverage of important events in both countries and the issuing of publications promoting the history, culture and relations between the two countries.

Gousman said "we can look into more specific issues as for example how we can inform the people of Russia more extensively on the Cyprus people and their struggle and how we can contribute so that Cypriots learn better the current problems Russia faces."

Hadjisavvas described the cooperation memorandum as of great importance "because it gives the two services and the two countries the opportunity to further develop their relations."
